If using apples or pears or other vegetables you will want to cook them until soft. You can boil the fruit with a ½ cup of water or bake until soft. Bananas can be prepared raw.
Pour into your blender and blend until smooth
Pour into a storage/serving bowl, let cool and serve. If you are making it for future use you may want to add lemon/lime juice to prevent browning.
Chef’s tips: For breastfeeding mothers you can use your breast milk as the liquid to puree the fruit and vegetables. You can puree almost any fruit or vegetable except seeded one for babies and toddlers. For preparing purees for adults and other meals you can use plant based milk or even no-sodium vegetable broth.
Nutrition Tip: Mixing fruit and vegetables increases the vitamins and mineral contents and it enhances the flavor of purees.
Taste Tip: If at all possible use fresh organic fruits and vegetables to decrease the risk of ingestion of any unwanted substances.
